Vehicle was impounded for 14 days
A 21-year-old man is facing stunt driving charges after being caught speeding nearly double the limit in Brockville. Around 8:00 p.m. on April 27, police observed a vehicle travelling at 97 km/h in a 50 km/h zone along Stewart Boulevard.
Officers stopped the vehicle and confirmed the excessive speed—47 km/h over the posted limit—qualifying as stunt driving under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act. As a result, the driver’s license was immediately suspended, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The driver was also issued a court date to face the charge.
Brockville police are reminding motorists that excessive speeding poses serious risks and carries severe penalties aimed at keeping roads safe.
