Further checks revealed the man was also driving with a suspended license
A 24-year-old man is facing several charges after giving a false name to police during a late-night traffic stop in Brockville.
Just after midnight on July 18, 2025, Brockville Police stopped a vehicle and found its insurance status was unconfirmed.
When speaking to the driver, officers became suspicious after he provided a fake name.
One officer recognized the man, who was confirmed to be the vehicle’s owner and had outstanding criminal charges.
Further checks revealed the man was also driving with a suspended license.
He was arrested and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
The man now faces charges of obstructing a peace officer, driving while under suspension, failing to update his address on his vehicle permit, and failing to provide proof of insurance.
He was later released with a court date to answer to the charges.
