He faces multiple charges
A 19-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving after a traffic stop in Brockville early Tuesday morning.
At around 1:15 a.m. on July 2, Brockville Police pulled over a vehicle near Stewart Boulevard and Jefferson Drive for a traffic violation. Officers believed the driver had been drinking.
Police administered a roadside breath test, which the driver failed. He was arrested and brought to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. There, it was confirmed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
The man’s vehicle was impounded, and his driver's licence was immediately suspended. He faces multiple charges, including operation while impaired, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg, and two offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
The driver was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
