Community support for the young players stayed strong throughout the playoffs and finals week in Brockville this year
Brockville’s U13 Rep Braves completed a remarkable season with an A championship after finishing first in the regular season with a 22-1-1 record and outscoring opponents 176-28. The team went 5-0 in the playoff round robin and swept the A championship series 2-0.
In both final games, the Braves fell behind 2-0 early but rallied to win 5-4 and 9-3. Coach Kent Henderson said the players learned together and worked hard all season. He also thanked co-coaches Dylan Catellier, Dave Fox and David McGurrin, along with managers Joanne Boyd and Cinnamon Hofhine and trainer Andrew Bischof.
Henderson said he was proud of the group and grateful for the season, adding he was happy with the title but sad there were no more games left to play with the team. Community support for the young players stayed strong throughout the playoffs and finals week in Brockville this year.
