They start tomorrow at 9 a.m.
Thousand Islands Secondary School’s top-ranked senior girls basketball team is set to leave for Belleville on Wednesday morning after one final practice on their home court.
The team, champions of both the LGSSAA and EOSSAA, will enter the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) tournament as the number-one seed.
Their first game is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20 at 9 a.m. against West Hill.
Support for the team has been boosted by former student Jeff Severson, who recently donated $3,100 to help fund their OFSAA trip.
The players, coaches, and school community are hopeful that this strong backing will inspire the team to chase provincial gold.
With a combination of skill, determination, and community support, TISS aims to make a memorable run at the championship, leaving everything on the court as they represent their school on one of the province’s biggest high school basketball stages.
