Passengers on Via Rail trains were able to continue their journeys Thursday morning after being stranded in Brockville for more than 12 hours.
Train 669, traveling from Toronto to Ottawa, experienced a mechanical failure Wednesday evening. When repairs could not be completed, passengers were transferred to another train traveling from Montreal to Toronto.
The delays also affected passengers on trains 48 and 54, who were stuck in Brockville from about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

No alternative transportation was provided to passengers during the delay, and the reason for the mechanical issue has not been disclosed.
