An appreciation event is planned in early June to celebrate winners and their contributions
Residents are being urged to recognize local school safety champions through the Brockville's Crossing Guard of the Year Contest 2025–2026.
The annual contest invites students, parents and school staff to nominate a crossing guard who shows dedication and care in keeping children safe.
Organizers say one winner in Brockville will receive a $500 cash prize and be honoured for their work.
Nominations are open until May 15. Participants are asked to provide details about the guard, including their location, schedule and why they deserve recognition.
Those who submit nominations can also enter a draw for a family fun package, including admission for four to Mont Cascades Water Park.
Organizers say crossing guards play a vital role in the community, often working in difficult weather and busy traffic conditions.
