Residents are encouraged to get involved by baking sweet treats for the centre’s Cupcake Day open house this Saturday
The Ontario SPCA is gearing up to celebrate Cupcake Day on Feb. 23, and communities across Leeds and Grenville are stepping up to help local animals.
Katelyn Stojadinov, community outreach co-ordinator with the Ontario SPCA Leeds and Grenville Animal Centre, said Cupcake Day has been a tradition for many years.
She said residents and businesses are baking and selling cupcakes, pet treats and toys to raise money in support of the local animal centre.
Stojadinov highlighted several local businesses taking part in this year’s campaign.
Other supporters include Krystals Pet Sitting, Pastry Kings Princess and local schools.
Residents are encouraged to get involved by baking sweet treats for the centre’s Cupcake Day open house this Saturday.
Those interested can contact Stojadinov at 613-349-7575 or kstojadinov@ontariospca.ca for more information.
Additional community bake sale dates are also planned.
