What's Good in Brockville and Area? Local brewery owner designs new kind of beer for busy parents

Audet's inspiration comes from recently becoming a father, and wanting to have a beer while getting things done and taking care of a young baby at home

Arbru Solar Brewery in Mallorytown will launch Beer Daddy, an ultralight electrolyte lager, tomorrow.

With alcoholic beverages still very prominent, and with the explosion of the non-alcoholic beer market, owner Phil Audet says he wanted to create something in the middle.

Audet says the 2.5 per cent beer contains 75 calories, three grams of carbohydrates and 200 milligrams of potassium, calcium and magnesium electrolytes.

It is brewed using Ontario-grown barley, and the event runs from noon to 8 p.m.

He says the inspiration comes from recently becoming a father, and wanting to have a beer while getting things done and taking care of a young baby at home.
