Organizers are hoping for a strong turnout as the community comes together to support the fight against ALS
The Prescott ALS Walk will take place on Saturday, June 20 at 10 a.m. at Centennial Park as organizers continue raising money for ALS research and support programs across Canada.
The annual event is organized by Jen Sargent and her family in memory of her father, who died from ALS in 2022.
Sargent spoke about why she and her family continue to organize the event.
Sargent also explained how community members can contribute to the fundraiser through donations supporting the event.
Since the walks began, Sargent said organizers have raised about $10,000 for ALS-related initiatives.
Funds collected through this year's event will go directly to the ALS Canada Research Program, the only national fund dedicated to ALS research in Canada.
Sargent shared a few final remarks ahead of the walk.
