Public voting underway
Brockville’s Arts Hub is competing for a share of $10,000 in the McDougall Community Contest 2025. The local arts group, based in St. John’s United Church, submitted a video showcasing its events and community impact.
The contest, sponsored by McDougall Insurance, awards three prizes to local charities and projects. The Arts Hub is asking the public to vote daily from May 23 to May 31 to help secure a top prize.
In 2024, the Arts Hub hosted 20 days of events, 35 days of workshops, and welcomed over 10,000 visitors. The group plans upgrades including new lighting and a stage extension to improve performances.
Voting decides winners, with $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second, and $2,000 for third. The winners will be announced June 2. Last year’s winners included Wilberforce Loop Troupe and Quinte West Lost Paws. The Arts Hub hopes to continue growing with community support.
