After a hiatus of about a year and a half, Cowan’s Dairy Bar is preparing to reopen in Brockville ahead of the summer season.
The popular ice cream shop, which operated in Brockville for more than 100 years, closed in December 2024.
New owner Amgad Alhawshabi explained why he decided to invest in bringing Cowan’s back to Brockville.
He said the business is planning a soft opening next week, while a grand opening will take place at a later date.
No official dates have been announced for either opening event.
Alhawshabi said he will not make many changes to the menu but plans to add new items over time.
He added the business is looking to hire local workers and is excited to reopen just in time for summer.
