Ronald McDonald House Charities in Ottawa will be the beneficiary of a fundraiser that the 1000 Islands Regatta committee has launched ahead of next weekend's event here in Brockville (June 27-29).

Local hydroplane racer and event organizer, Kent Henderson says RMHC is a cause that's near and dear to him and his wife Cinnamon.

Henderson says 98% of stories out of CHEO are good ones, but unfortunately theirs had a tragic ending with Carsyn's passing in May 2012.

'Ice The Competition for Carsyn', the ice bucket challenge is in support of RMHC's expansion in Ottawa, and he tells us how the challenge works.

The winner, and ultimately the one who will receive the ice bucket will be announced after the hydroplane racing finals at the Regatta next Sunday, June 29th.
