What's Good in Brockville? Local Legion’s Poppy Campaign officially underway

The campaign leads up to Remembrance Day on Nov. 11, when the Legion will hold its annual ceremony at Brockville City Hall

The Brockville Legion’s 2026 Poppy Campaign is underway, giving residents a chance to show their support for veterans ahead of Remembrance Day.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 96 marked the start of the campaign Friday, when Mayor Matt Wren pinned the first poppy on the uniform of Charlie Stickney, a Brockville Second World War veteran.

Poppies are now available at locations across the city.

Peggy Atkins, co-chair of the Legion’s Poppy Campaign, says the poppies are free, with donations welcome.

Atkins also explains how the money raised through the campaign supports veterans.

Along with poppies, the Legion is selling lawn signs, bracelets, pins and car poppies for those looking to show their support.

The campaign leads up to Remembrance Day on Nov. 11, when the Legion will hold its annual ceremony at Brockville City Hall. Everyone is encouraged to attend and honour those who have served.
