A community-wide fundraising effort is underway as the Palliative Care Radiothon airs live across Brockville radio stations.

The broadcast will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 21 on MyFM 104.9, Giant FM 103.7, and Hustle & Heart 99.9 myFM.

Organizers are encouraging residents to tune in, participate in fundraising activities, and support local palliative care services.

All proceeds raised during the radiothon will go directly to the Palliative Care Outreach Program at Brockville General Hospital.

Trish Buote, Executive Director of the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation, explained that there will be plenty of local initiatives involved.

Volunteers will also be accepting in-person donations at a new location: Richard’s Coffeehouse, 234 King Street West, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the day of the event.

She also noted when the event will take place.

The annual event brings together local businesses, volunteers, and listeners in a shared effort to ensure compassionate, quality end-of-life care remains accessible to individuals and families throughout the Brockville community.
