A local 17-year-old is asking the community for help to give his mother greater independence after living with Multiple Sclerosis for nearly two decades.

Dustin Crowder and his father have launched a fundraiser with a goal of raising $40,000 to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van for his mother, Alicia Crowder, who has been living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for the past 18 years.

With more, here's Crowder.

He says a wheelchair-accessible van would make it easier and safer for his mother to attend medical appointments, family gatherings and everyday outings.

He thanked the community for the support the fundraiser has already received.

The family says the cost of a wheelchair-accessible van is more than they can afford on their own and hopes donations and shares will help them reach their goal.
