The adoption event takes place at all 12 Ontario SPCA animal centres
The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is hosting its spring iAdopt event to help long-waiting animals find forever homes.
Community Outreach Coordinator Sara Vanderveer told us more.
The adoption event takes place at all 12 Ontario SPCA animal centres, including the Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre in Brockville.
During the three-day event, adoption fees will be reduced by 20% for long-term residents. Vanderveer explained the criteria to be named a long-term resident.
Spring is a busy time for shelters, and this event helps create space for more animals in need of care. All adopted animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and go home with Royal Canin pet food to ease their transition.
If you'd like to support but can't adopt, Vanderveer says they'll welcome more volunteers
