Homebound Brockville residents can request delivery by texting 613-769-3123
Don’t feel like cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year? A local cafe can help with that.
Richard’s Coffeehouse will host its annual free Thanksgiving dinner Sunday, Oct. 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at 234 King St. W.
Owner Sam Rawas said the cafe has more than 400 pounds of boneless turkey ready for Sunday, along with all the traditional Thanksgiving sides.
Employees have also been donating money from their tip jar toward the free meals.
Rawas said the initiative began in 2019, when the restaurant served between 150 and 300 meals.
That number has now grown to well over 500.
He talked about what drives him to continue holding these free dinners.
Rawas said the dinner is open to anyone, with no strings attached.
Each person can receive one free dinner, with dine-in and pickup available.
Homebound Brockville residents can request delivery by texting 613-769-3123. Delivery requests must be received by tomorrow (Oct. 10) and are available only within city limits.
