The Brockville Rowing Club marked a major celebration on Saturday, May 30, honouring longtime rower Calla Webster and christening a new eight-person racing shell on the St. Lawrence River.
The event drew a large crowd of athletes, families, alumni and local supporters to the boathouse.
Club board president Mike O’Shaughnessy explained why Webster was chosen for the C Douglas Marshall Trophy.
A new eight-person racing shell called “The Goose” was also christened. The boat was donated by Steve “Goose” Warwick, who has been part of the club for decades.
