The Weekender Program for Students recently wrapped up its 2025-26 school year, marking its 11th year of operation and its first year in partnership with Loaves and Fishes.
The program serves 22 schools across the area, providing weekend food support to students facing food insecurity.
Founder and Co-ordinator, Laura Roobol, talked about how the year went.
Roobol said hundreds of students received support throughout the school year.
In February, the program moved to 803 Chelsea St. in Brockville, and Roobol said the new location has been a major benefit for operations.
She also highlighted some impressive end-of-year statistics.
Roobol thanked schools, volunteers and supporters for another successful year and said the organization is always looking for more volunteers.
