A 36-year-old Brockville man is facing impaired driving charges after allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel at an intersection.
Police responded to a 911 call around 10:10 p.m. on February 27 after witnesses saw the driver dozing off on William Street. Officers found the vehicle and conducted a roadside breath test, which resulted in a fail.
The man was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police station for further testing, confirming he was over the legal limit.
His driver’s licence was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded. He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
He was released with a future court date. Police continue to warn drivers about the risks of impaired driving, emphasizing the serious legal and safety consequences.
