10 years of existence
Alissa Sexton with 100 Women Who Care says the organization is celebrating 10 years of existence.
She explains that the group (which is actually made up of more then 100 women) is dedicated to collectively helping the community.
She says each woman who comes to the meeting brings $100 to each meeting, meaning they donate close to $11,000 each time.
Sexton says they get ideas of who they can help from suggestions and from within.
Those three then pitch their ideas to the group, and a decision is made on who gets the donation. Sexton says it's a wonderful experience.
She says they are always accepting new members. Anyone who is interested can connect with them through their website found here.
They next meet on Tuesday, May 13th.
