The event was held on Sunday, June 8th
The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation raised over $315,000 at the 5th annual Ride the River cycling event on Saturday, June 8. Held at Brown’s Bay Park, the event brought the community together to support colon care at Brockville General Hospital through the Bottoms Up! Campaign.
With help from donors, riders, and volunteers, the event raised $315,875.04, including a large anonymous match. All funds will go toward advanced endoscopy equipment that helps detect and treat colorectal conditions earlier.
Trish Buote, the Foundation’s executive director, said the ride showed “incredible energy and community spirit.” Hospital CEO Julie Caffin called it a “privilege” to ride for such a vital cause.
Thanks were extended to the sponsors, organizers, and the St. Lawrence Parks Commission. The funds raised will help improve diagnosis speed and outcomes for local patients.
The Foundation supports Brockville General in delivering exceptional care to the community.
