A new Trustee must be appointed within 90 days
Carole Dufort has officially resigned from her role as Trustee for the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB), citing health reasons.
Elected in 2022, Dufort represented Ward 2, which includes Lanark Highlands, Perth, Tay Valley Township, Montague, and Drummond/North Elmsley. She has been known for her strong commitment to students and her dedication to public education.
Before joining the board, Dufort was an award-winning educator and principal. She is also a long-time supporter of the UCDSB Champions for Kids Foundation, a charity that helps students access local activities. She recently received the Heart of a Champion Award for her work.
The UCDSB Board of Trustees will meet next week to begin the process of filling her seat. According to the Education Act, a new Trustee must be appointed within 90 days.
