Brockville Legion Track and Field Club coach Laura Sivers delivered an outstanding performance on the international stage, earning 11 medals for Team Canada at the North, Central American and Caribbean Masters Athletics Championships held in Mexico City from November 6 to 9.
Competing in the Women’s 40 division, Sivers claimed five gold, five silver and one bronze medal over the four-day competition. She also set a new Ontario record in the W40 pentathlon and achieved several personal bests.
Her gold medals came in the pentathlon, weight throw, shot put, discus and high jump. She also captured silver in the hammer throw, javelin, long jump, 80m hurdles and 4x400m relay, along with a bronze in the W35 4x100m relay.
The Brockville coach’s achievements highlight her dedication to the sport and her ability to compete among the best masters athletes across the Americas.
