The Brockville Compost Site at the Gord Watts Municipal Centre is now open for the season with updated hours.
Located at 251 North Augusta Road, the site operates Tuesday to Friday, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm until August 30, with reduced hours starting in September. On Saturdays, it’s open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, closed on statutory holidays.
Residents can drop off leaves, plants, brush, hedge trimmings, and small tree limbs. Grass clippings, sod, weeds, and household organic waste are not accepted. Leaves must be in paper bags, not plastic, and tree limbs should be under four feet long and eight inches in diameter.
Brockville residents can also pick up two free wheelbarrow-sized loads of compost per year. They are responsible for loading and transporting the compost themselves.
