Local groups and event organizers have a new opportunity to get funding thanks to the City of Brockville’s Community Grants Program.
During 2025 budget talks, Council directed staff to create the program to support organizations and events that benefit the community. A draft policy was reviewed at Tuesday’s Council meeting, along with updates recommended by the General Standing Committee.
The final version of the policy sets aside 15 per cent of future Municipal Accommodation Tax revenue to fund the program. For 2025, the program will rely on the city's Fiscal Policy Reserve and funds that were previously set aside for fee waivers.
