On August 18th
On August 18, Brockville Police Service hosted a Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) Use of Force Demonstration Day, giving students a unique chance to learn about law enforcement firsthand.
Participants included YIPI students from Brockville as well as those from Smiths Falls, Cornwall, and Gananoque police services.
The day featured presentations from specialty police units and a visit from a canine member from the Brockville Jail.
Students also spent time with the Use of Force Instructor, practicing key techniques and learning important safety skills. The event concluded with a fun relay challenge that allowed students to apply what they learned in a team setting.
The initiative provided an engaging mix of education, teamwork, and practical experience, helping young people better understand policing and public safety.
Organizers thanked Stingers Indoor Paintball for generously donating the space, contributing to a memorable and hands-on learning day for all participants.
