Brockville residents urged to act now as Christmas tree pickup begins

Christmas trees collected through the program will be properly disposed of through municipal waste services

Brockville residents are being reminded it is time to say goodbye to their Christmas trees, as curbside collection begins this week. The City of Brockville says natural Christmas trees will be picked up on regular waste collection days between now and Friday (Jan. 9).

Residents are asked to place their trees at the curb by 7 a.m. on their usual garbage day. All decorations, including ornaments, tinsel and tree bags, must be removed before pickup. Artificial trees will not be collected.

The city warns that trees may be left behind if they are placed on top of snowbanks or frozen into packed snow. Officials say clear placement helps crews collect trees safely and efficiently during winter conditions.

Christmas trees collected through the program will be properly disposed of through municipal waste services.

Residents can check their pickup day by downloading the 2026 City of Brockville Collection Calendar from the city’s website.
