The induction ceremony is on the 13th of June
The Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame has grown by five people. Elected to the Hall are Kevin McDonald who played professional hockey; Stan Smith a 10-pin bowling champion and owner of the Brockville Bowling Centre. Whit Prophet who has been involved with the Brockville Braves for decades; Jackie Rassenberg who was an outstanding athlete and coach and former Brockville Brave Darren Burns. The other winners were Vicki Sargent as Volunteer and Janet Wynands receiving the Coaching Award for track and field.
There are five teams for team of the year; TISS Sr. Boys Basketball, TISS Sr. Girls Basketball, Brockville Privateers Rugby, Ange Gabriel Sr. Girls Basketball, and the U-18 Brockville Angels.
The five nominees for sports person of the year; Simon Mack - Hockey, Chad Valcour - Pickleball, Adam Falco - Golf, Jackson Witham - Track & Field, Grady Spicer - Hockey.
The Kinsmen Sports Awards dinner is June 12th at the Brockville Memorial Centre. The induction ceremony is on the 13th. Tickets for $30 will be on sale by the end of the month.
