The City of Brockville is moving ahead with a required update to its comprehensive zoning bylaw following approval of its new official plan in 2024.
Under Ontario’s Planning Act, municipalities must update zoning rules within three years to match official plan policies and recent provincial law changes.
Zoning bylaws set detailed rules for land use, including permitted uses, lot sizes, setbacks and parking, while the official plan provides broader direction.
City staff are now seeking input from business groups on possible changes to industrial and commercial zones.
A stakeholder session is scheduled for April 28, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Brockville Public Library, beginning with a presentation by consultants NPG Planning Solutions followed by discussion.
Feedback will be reviewed by staff and consultants before recommendations are presented to council.
