The ban remains in place until further notice
Brockville’s total fire ban will stay in place this weekend, even with rain in the forecast.
City officials say the restriction will not be lifted until conditions improve further, stressing that the measure is necessary to protect the community.
The ban applies to all open-air burning across Brockville, including city-owned islands and St. Lawrence Park.
Campfires, brush fires and outdoor burning remain prohibited. However, propane and gas appliances with mechanical shut-off features, such as grills, smokers and barbecues, are still allowed.
Electric cooking devices like pizza ovens are also exempt from the ban.
Authorities thank the public for their patience and understanding as the city works to maintain safety.
The fire ban will remain in effect until further notice, and updates will be provided as weather conditions change.
