Registration is open until September 18.
Cataraqui Conservation Foundation is inviting the public to celebrate its 60th anniversary by taking part in a Fall Hiking Challenge from September 1 to October 31, 2025.
Participants are encouraged to hike at least three of four designated conservation areas: Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, Gould Lake, Little Cataraqui Creek, and Parrott’s Bay.
Hikers must take a photo with a special Challenge sign at each trail and upload their photos online by October 31 to earn a 60th Anniversary badge. Registration is open until September 18.
The trails are suitable for all ages and abilities. Participants are advised to dress in layers, wear proper footwear, and bring essentials including water, snacks, navigation tools, first aid, sun protection, and insect repellent. Conservation rules must be followed, including keeping dogs on leashes, staying on marked trails, and packing out all supplies.
The event offers a safe, family-friendly way to enjoy fall colours while exploring Cataraqui Conservation lands.
