Driver arrested after fleeing OPP in snow-covered car on County Road 7

He is scheduled to appear in court in January 2026

A 45-year-old Addison man has been charged with impaired driving and several other offences after failing to stop for Ontario Provincial Police.

On Dec. 16 at around 11 p.m., Leeds County OPP officers spotted a vehicle on County Road 7 covered in snow, missing licence plates, and with improper headlights. Police attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop. The vehicle later ran out of fuel and was located nearby, where the driver was taken into custody.

The man faces charges including operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, flight from a peace officer, driving without insurance or valid plates, and operating a vehicle without a valid permit. His licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in court in January 2026.

Police remind the public that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
