The home of Brockville radio since 1968
It’s the end of an era for local radio in Brockville. Today (Sep. 12) marks the final day of broadcasting from the longtime home of CFJR-FM 104.9 myFM and CJPT-FM 103.7 Giant FM at 601 Stewart Blvd.
The site has hosted local radio since June 15, 1968, when CFJR AM 1450 moved from the Revere Hotel downtown. Over 20,908 broadcast days later, both stations are now set to begin a new chapter at 100 Strowger Blvd next week.
The Stewart Blvd property was once a 36-acre farm. Over the years, the original farmhouse was expanded into a full radio station, and the land saw many changes, including tower relocations and major renovations.
Listeners are invited to tune in to Bruce Wylie’s final live show from the location before 10 a.m. The move brings state-of-the-art studios under My Broadcasting Corporation operations, ready for the future of local radio.
