Organizers praised the support, highlighting the important economic impact of these events
The Ontario government is investing $190,000 to support six local festivals and events in Leeds and Grenville through the 2025 Experience Ontario program, MPP Steve Clark announced.
The funding is part of a $20-million provincial initiative to enhance festivals and draw more visitors to communities across Ontario, helping to strengthen local economies.
The grants include $55,000 each for the 1000 Islands Regatta and the Brockville Tall Ships Festival. Other recipients are the South Grenville Bluegrass Festival and Brockville Ribfest, receiving $20,000 each, along with Le FestivILES in Gananoque and the Mermaid March Break 2026 event at Brockville’s Aquatarium.
Organizers praised the support, highlighting the important economic impact of these events. The South Grenville Bluegrass Festival alone contributes up to $185,000 annually to the Spencerville economy.
“These special events add so much to our quality of life while also supporting our local businesses,” said Clark.
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming Stan Cho added that festivals not only boost the economy but also bring communities together and celebrate Ontario’s vibrant culture.
More than 350 festivals across Ontario are receiving support through the Experience Ontario 2025 program.
