The OPP continues enforcement and urges the public to report suspected impaired driving
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police say multiple drivers have been charged with impaired driving in Leeds County so far this month. Officers with the Leeds County detachment report five separate incidents between April 2 and April 12 involving collisions and traffic complaints.
In one case, a driver allegedly fled after striking a parked vehicle. Police also say another motorist was stopped on Highway 401 after reports of dangerous driving, including excessive speed. Other incidents involved a RIDE program stop, a vehicle in a ditch and a crash with a guardrail.
All accused drivers face charges related to impaired operation, and some also face counts such as dangerous driving and failing to remain. Police say licenses were suspended and vehicles impounded.
