Her 14th victory on the LPGA tour
Smiths Falls Brooke Henderson has ended her more than two year drought on the LPGA tour in spectacular fashion.
She won the CPKC Open in Mississauga by one stroke over Minjee Lee in a thrilling fourth round.
It's Brooke's second win at the CPKC, her first came in 2018. It is her 14th win on the tour.
After the win Brooke said the Canadian crowd really inspired her, and the Chimo and SFDCI grad says she's happy to give the country something to cheer about.
She also says she's honoured to inspire the next generation of young athletes, many of whom were cheering her on all week.
In a statement on social media, Mayor Shawn Pankow congratulated Brooke, "On an incredible performance, winning the CPKC Women’s Open by a single stroke!"
Pankow also praised Brooke's caddy and sister Brittany Henderson. "What a dynamic duo she and Brittany make!
Well done Brooke and Brittany. We couldn’t be prouder!"
With the victory, Brooke becomes the 4th Canadian to win our national open twice.
