The Torch Run continues to be a meaningful tradition
The Brockville Police Service helped raise over $1,000 during this year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run held Wednesday in support of Special Olympics Ontario.
Local officers, Special Olympians, and volunteers ran through the city while carrying the torch and collecting donations along the route.
Other first responders joined in to raise awareness and help keep the runners safe.
The event is part of a larger campaign to support athletes with intellectual disabilities and promote inclusion in sports across Ontario.
Police say they’re proud of the community’s support and the spirit shown by participants.
Brockville officers are also getting ready to travel to Ottawa this week to take part in the Provincial School Championships alongside other law enforcement agencies and students.
The Torch Run continues to be a meaningful tradition that brings the community together while supporting a great cause.
