A construction worker is recovering after being trapped under a concrete slab at a job site in Brockville yesterday (May 28).
Just after noon, Brockville Fire crews from Stations 1 and 2 rushed to 1481 Windsor Drive. The situation was serious, and additional help was called in from nearby agencies.
Specialized rescue teams, including the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Emergency Response Unit and Ottawa Fire Services’ Ontario Task Force 4, worked together using technical equipment to free the trapped worker.
The man was rescued around 4:30 p.m. and taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Officials praised the efforts of all responders, including Brockville Police, Leeds and Grenville Paramedics, Ornge Air Ambulance, local firefighters, hospital staff, and on-site contractors.
This successful operation showed strong teamwork and dedication to public safety. Authorities thanked everyone who helped bring the emergency to a safe conclusion.
