The 12-day awareness effort is part of a provincewide initiative led by Ontario fire safety partners to help ensure a safe and happy holiday season
The Brockville Fire Department has launched its annual 12 Days of Holiday Safety campaign, with Fire Chief Melanie Jones encouraging residents to take simple steps to reduce fire risks during the busy winter season.
Jones began the campaign by outlining the first safety tips aimed at helping households stay safe during December.
She highlighted the importance of having working smoke alarms and testing them regularly as holiday activities increase.
Jones then went over a few additional safety reminders as the campaign continues through the 12-day period.
She also reviewed later tips in the series, covering days nine, 10 and 11.
Jones wrapped up by highlighting the final day of the campaign.
The 12-day awareness effort is part of a provincewide initiative led by Ontario fire safety partners to help ensure a safe and happy holiday season.
