Today at the Brockville Country Club
Today is the 32nd Annual Friends of Palliative Care Golf Tournament at the Brockville Country Club.
The event is in support of the Palliative Care Program at the Brockville General Hospital, which ensures that people have comfort and dignity in their final days of life.
A new addition to the event this year is the WestJet A Gift of Flight Raffle for two. Here's Tournament Co-Chair, Dave Publow.
Tickets are just one for $20 or three for $50 and can be purchased by stopping by the Brockville and District Hospital office or emailing foundation@brockvillegeneralhospital.ca. The lucky winners will be announced tonight at the Friends of Palliative Care Golf Tournament.
Publow says this event wouldn't be able to raise in excess of $300,000 per year without so many incredible sponsors.
Over 270 golfers are participating today with 128 in the morning and 144 in the afternoon. Publow explains what happens after the round of golf.
To date, this event has helped to raise over $5,193,400.00 to support BGH's Palliative Care Program.
