St. Lawrence College said the Cornwall and Brockville campuses will remain open, though service reductions have already taken place
A leaked efficiency report is raising concerns among St. Lawrence College staff about the future of its Cornwall and Brockville campuses. The report, prepared by Strategy Corp. and dated March 31, outlined possible outsourcing of services and even potential campus closures if provincial funding does not improve.
The leak came as the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and the College Employer Council reached a tentative deal for full-time college support staff last week.
Ontario recently committed $1.3 billion in 2024 and another $1 billion in 2025 to strengthen college operations and fund efficiency reviews. St. Lawrence College said the Cornwall and Brockville campuses will remain open, though service reductions have already taken place.
Union representatives remain concerned about long-term funding changes, while a ratification vote on the tentative agreement is scheduled for Nov. 4. Part-time staff have also issued a strike mandate.
