Lorna Jean Edmonds was also the provincial Liberal candidate
Lorna Jean Edmonds is running for the Liberals in Leed-Grenville-Thousand Islands & Rideau Lakes in the April 28th, federal election after competing provincially just last month. She believes the outcome will be different this time—both at the leadership level and in the riding.
She faces Conservative MP Michael Barrett, who is considered the frontrunner in the historically blue riding. Barrett wasted no time, launching his campaign just hours after the election was called on Sunday.
Edmonds has a strong background in health care, social issues and international affairs. She has held key roles at Ohio University and Queen’s University. She says her experience, along with her recent provincial run, gives her the tools to bring real change to the region.
Also in the race are Paul Lancione for the NDP and Randi Ramdeen for the Greens.
With candidates now in place, the campaign is heating up as voters prepare to head to the polls.
