Invista’s Maitland plant will close in the coming months, leaving about 100 workers without jobs. The plant’s owner, Koch Industries, says the decision is due to market conditions and not the result of employee performance.
Invista President and CEO Brook Vickery thanked staff for their hard work and said all affected employees will receive severance. Dytek A production will move to Invista’s Victoria, Texas site.

In July 2024, Invista had announced a $23-million investment at the site, making the closure especially surprising for the community.
MPP Steve Clark blamed the U.S.-Canada trade war for the plant’s closure and said he is working with other governments to support workers. Koch Industries denied the move is tariff-related.
