A 44-year-old man faces charges
A 44-year-old man faces charges after an intimate partner violence incident on May 17.
Police responded around 7:30 p.m. to a residence on Cartier Court after receiving a call about an assault. Investigation showed the man, who had been drinking, struck his girlfriend in the face during an argument.
The woman suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The man fled the scene by vehicle but returned when police arrived.
Officers arrested him for assault and impaired driving. Tests at the Brockville Police Service confirmed he was driving while impaired.
He was held for a bail hearing.
