On July 14th
A 56-year-old Pickering man was arrested in the early hours of July 14, 2025, after police found him impaired behind the wheel outside Brockville General Hospital.
Officers responded around 1:00 a.m. to a complaint about a possibly intoxicated man near the hospital.
Investigators say the man and his girlfriend had stopped in Brockville during a trip east, seeking help for a medical emergency related to substance use.
Police say the man was found in a running vehicle and arrested for impaired driving.
Breath tests confirmed he was over the legal limit with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100mL of blood.
While in custody, the man reportedly became uncooperative and began self-harming, prompting a return to hospital for treatment.
Once stable, he was charged with impaired operation and driving over 80.
His vehicle was impounded and his licence suspended. A court date has been scheduled.
