Man faces multiple charges after Leeds intimate partner violence incident

One person is facing multiple charges following an intimate partner violence investigation, the Ontario Provincial Police said Friday.

Leeds OPP officers arrested a male at around 10 p.m. on Nov. 25 after he refused to leave a residence.

The individual was remanded into custody following a bail hearing. Charges include assault, three counts of breaking and entering a house with intent to commit an indictable offence, mischief causing property damage, criminal harassment and failure to comply with a release order.

Police did not release the accused’s name to protect the victim’s identity.

OPP officials reminded residents that victims of intimate partner violence are not alone and support is available. People seeking help can visit 211ontario.ca for local resources. Anyone in immediate danger or crisis is urged to dial 9-1-1.
