A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting someone with bear mace during a dispute in a downtown apartment.
On July 13, 2025, around 1:00 p.m., Brockville Police responded to a disturbance at a residence on King Street East.
Officers learned that an argument between two people had escalated, resulting in one person being sprayed in the face with bear mace.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
The victim sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
On July 16, around 6:00 p.m., the accused turned himself in to police.
He was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and mischief for interfering with the lawful enjoyment of property.
Police say the man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further suspects are being sought at this time.
