Mayor Wren says Brockville is doing well when it comes to jobs and housing
After three days of meetings and delegations involving over 400 municipalities, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference wrapped up last Wednesday (Aug. 20) in Ottawa.
Brockville Mayor Matt Wren was in attendance and says he walked away feeling proud about how the city is doing when it comes to jobs and housing after a delegation with the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development.
He applauds other local businesses for finding alternative ways to buy their products and not rely so heavily on the U.S. Wren is part of the Border Mayor's Alliance against U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs on Canadian imports.
On the housing front, Mayor Wren says Brockville is in a better spot compared to a lot of other places.
He adds that Ontario housing starts as a whole are not where they need to be and that the average cost of a home in this province is around $800,000.
